Guiding noise and spark problems in brushed motor commutators

Update:29 Sep 2022

Guiding sound:

Abnormal noise of brushed motor The abnormal noise of the motor is related to the excessively hard spring, the wear of the brush, the bulging of the insulating sheet between the commutator segments and the protrusion of the armature. The troubleshooting method is: 1. Adjust the position of the brush. Improve the contact between the brush and the commutator, and smooth the contact surface of the brush; 2. Replace the brush or replace the spring.

spark:

There are sparks and ring sparks in the brush motor commutator, which are caused by poor contact between the brush and the commutator, wear of the commutator or brush, or insufficient condensation pressure, and the contact surface seems to be unconnected, causing the brush to jump. . If the coil or the commutator segment is seriously short-circuited, open-circuited, and the brush is jumping seriously, sometimes the current is too large, which can cause continuous sparks.

The main reasons and maintenance methods for sparks in brushed motor brushes are as follows.

1) Ring fire occurs around the motor commutator: 1. The main reason for the failure is that the brush position is incorrect; the brush is too soft; the rotor is short-circuited; the polarity sequence of the main pole and the commutation pole is wrong; , Correct the order of the main pole and the commutation pole; use an insulation resistance meter to check the insulation resistance between the main pole and the commutation pole, and deal with it accordingly.

2) The spark under the brush of a certain pole of an electric bicycle is more intense than other electrodes: 1. The main reason for the failure is that the distance between the brushes is uneven; the main pole where the spark is more intense is short-circuited; the commutating pole where the spark is more intense is inter-turn connection 2. Maintenance method Adjust the position of the brush; replace the brush; replace the main pole; replace the commutation pole.
