Die-casting design and process of micro-motor rotor

Update:15 Dec 2021

Different from general die-casting parts, the structure of the micro-motor rotor seems simple, but the wall thickness is quite different, the end ring wall thickness, fan blades, and guide bars are thinner. If the mold design is unreasonable, it will cause the end ring part to produce shrinkage, looseness, pores, and insufficient forming of the guide bar and the fan blade.

During die-casting, liquid aluminum fills the top of the cavity first. Therefore, the bottom of the cavity must have a good venting capability, otherwise the casting will have defects such as pores and insufficient filling due to insufficient venting. Therefore, an exhaust duct with a width of 18 mm and a depth of 0.1 mm is opened at the bottom of the mold cavity shown. At the same time, the method of adding inserts and inserts in the moving and fixed molds makes it easier to discharge the gas during the die casting process, thereby solving the porosity problem of the casting, reducing the waste caused by the porosity, and improving the pass rate of the die casting. Designing the vulnerable parts on the mold cavity to the shown insert and insert structure can save mold steel, and the insert and insert are easy to manufacture. By replacing the insert and insert, the cost of mold renewal is reduced.

Design principles and design content of die-casting mold Die-casting mold is an important process equipment for die-casting production. The quality of die-casting mold design directly affects the shape, size, strength, surface quality and other aspects of die-casting parts. Therefore, die-casting mold design should meet the following principles : Adapt to various process requirements of die-casting production, and obtain die-casting parts that meet the requirements of drawings.
